Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly blasted transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney last week when Mulvaney complained that companies were partnering with him only because they want to “check a box.”
In an interview with Bustle, Mulvaney complained companies are only partnering with her to seem like they support diversity and the LGBTQ movement.
“A lot of brands will ask, ‘Could you relate a little bit of your struggle growing up into this?’ Like, no! If you want me, you want me because I’m Dylan, not because I’m trans.”
“That’s when you know they were just trying to check a box,” Mulvaney said. “If I enter too much into the activist space or too far into politics where I’m not ready, I could misspeak or I could, you know, give information that’s not correct.”
Mulvaney also touched upon whether or not he should continue to be an activist in the interview saying, “If I enter too much into the activist space or too far into politics where I’m not ready, I could misspeak or I could, you know, give information that’s not correct.”
“I don’t want us to take a step back — I don’t want to be the reason for that,” he said. “So, I want to push forward with my strong suit, which is showing trans joy, which is showing empathy, which is showing all the good there is in the community, and, of course, entertaining people.”
In response to the interview, Kelly blasted the influencer, saying that he was engaging in “woman face.”
“You tried that. It didn’t work,” the podcast host wrote about Mulvaney attempting to partner with companies for reasons other than being transgender. “Then you declared you are ‘a girl’ & got corporate $$ galore.”

Now you want ppl to say what’s interesting about you is not your #womanface but the person behind it who was already rejected?
How much pretending would you like us to do? https://t.co/20W2EYo5I4— Megyn Kelly (@megynkelly) April 28, 2023

This isn’t the first time that Megyn Kelly has taken the transgender influencer to task. When Mulvaney posted a video online last week that called for those who report on him with he/him pronouns to be thrown in jail, Megyn told him to leave the country.
“Move to Canada Dylan. You’ll love it,” she wrote.

Mulvaney has garnered increasing attention in recent weeks after his partnership with Bud Light led to a massive backlash that resulted in billions of dollars of lost market cap for the company.
Given these developments, Kelly seems to be voicing the concerns of millions of Americans who view transgender influencers like Dylan Mulvaney in a negative light.
