Jason Aldean Thanks Fans For Supporting Him Through Controversy As Streams Of Song Jump 1,000 Percent– 'Thank U Guys'

Jason Aldean is thanking his fans and supporters for having his back in the recent controversy surrounding his song ‘Try That in a Small Town’ where the country music star was accused of being “pro-lynching” over his anti-violence message.

Aldean shared a video on Twitter Monday captioned with “Thank u guys. Ready to see u back out there this weekend!” with an American flag and rocker-hand emoji. The video shows different clips from his tour with the song playing in the background, finishing with the country music singer speaking at a concert.

"So, somebody asked me, ‘Hey man, do you think you’re going to play this song tonight?'" he says at the end of the video. "The answer was simple. The people have spoken and you guys spoke very, very loudly this week."

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the song from the country music singer about how riots and robberies that take place in large cities would not be able to work in small towns garnered immense criticism from the left. Many claimed that the song pushed a racist agenda and also attacked Aldean for choosing to film the music video at a place where a lynching took place in 1917.

“In the past 24 hours I have been accused of releasing a pro-lynching song (a song that has been out since May) and was subject to the comparison that I (direct quote) was not too pleased with the nationwide BLM protests,” the Twitter post from Aldean read. “These references are not only meritless, but dangerous. There is not a single lyric in the song that references race or points to it- and there isn’t a single video clip that isn’t real news footage -and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music- this one goes too far.”

The controversy has also caused Aldean to see more success than ever with ‘Try That in a Small Town’ managing to claim the number two spot on the Billboard Top 100, something he has never done before. He previously peaked at number seven in 2011 with his song ‘Dirt Anthem Road,’ per Fox News

The country music star has also seen a nearly 1000 percent jump in streams of the song, ascending from 987,000 streams in its first week to 11.7 million in its second week.

Aldean seems intent on standing his ground against the woke mob and it makes perfect sense as to why. The support he has witnessed is unprecedented for the country music star and established a solid base for him and other artists to be able to stand up against far-left individuals who wish to attack them for their political beliefs.
