Former Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated on Sunday on “Meet the Press” that the midterms will could down to one thing. And if President Joe Biden (D) is the focus, Democrats will certainly lose.
“I think that Democrats if the election is about who is the most extreme as we saw,” Psaki began, adding, “you know Kevin McCarthy touch on there with Marjorie Taylor Greene, I’ll say her name, sitting over his left side, then they’re going to win.”
“If it is a referendum on the president, they will lose,” she stated, per Breitbart. “And they know that. They also know that crime is a huge vulnerability for Democrats.”
Recent polling shows that Psaki is correct in her observation. According to a newly released ABC News/Washington Post poll, well over half of Democrats do not want the ailing president to run in 2024.
Meanwhile, he has seen record low approval ratings with liberals, African-Americans, and the upper class: “He’s at new lows in approval among liberals (68 percent), Southerners (33 percent), and people in the middle- to upper-middle income range (34 percent). And his strong approval among Black adults – among the most stalwart Democratic groups – is at a career-low 31 percent.”
“I would say [crime is] of the biggest vulnerabilities,” the former press secretary explained. “And if you look at Pennsylvania, for example, what’s been interesting to me is it’s always you follow the money, and where people spending money.”
RINO LISA MURKOWSKI GETS BAD NEWS AS HER OPPONENT LOCKS IN MAJOR ENDORSEMENT
A recent Rasmussen poll found that Republicans hold a 14-point advantage over Democrats on the handling of crime as progressive district attorney’s in America’s cities let criminals roam free.
“In Pennsylvania, the Republicans have been spending millions of dollars on the air on crime ads against Fetterman because that’s where they see his vulnerability,” she emphasized about the campaign for the Pennsylvania Senate seat. “So, yes, the economy is hanging over everything. But you do have to look at state-by-state factors. And crime is a huge issue in the Pennsylvania race.”
Recent polling in Pennsylvania for the Senate race between Dr. Mehmet Oz and John Fetterman show the Democrat in the lead as Republicans try to take the critical seat for taking control of Congress. Currently, Fetterman holds an eight-point lead on Oz; however, that margin has been decreasing in recent weeks, according to FiveThirtyEight.
One thing is for certain, however. Democrats realize how damaging Biden is for their electoral success, and they are doing everything they can to separate down-ballot candidates from the president.
For example, Tim Ryan (D), who is running for the Senate in Ohio, has not asked Biden or any White House official to campaign on his behalf with a spokesperson telling ABC News that the campaign has “no plans to do so.”
President Biden is toxic to Democrats’ chances to hold Congress and Republicans should continue to draw parallels between their opponents and the radical policies of the Biden administration that they would support if elected.
