Jim Jordan Says He’ll Let Top Democrat Cut Off RFK Jr. If She Wants To ‘Censor Him Some More’

Republican Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan snapped back at Democratic Virgin Islands Del. Stacey Plaskett saying he’ll let her cut off Robert F. Kennedy Jr. if she “wants to censor him some more,” during the House Judiciary Committee meeting Thursday.

After Jordan introduced the witnesses, and they swore under oath, Plaskett then noted that Kennedy appeared to have ten minutes allotted on the board to give his opening statement, instead of the regular allotted time of five minutes. Jordan and Plaskett then proceed to go back and forth with each other questioning the amount of time Kennedy. should be allotted to speak.

“Excuse me point of order, I know that witnesses would usually have five minutes and I see ten minutes on board,” Plaskett announced. “Is it going to be ten minutes?”

Jordan replied, “we’ll give him five minutes, but we’re pretty lax with this, we’ll let him go for a little.”

Plaskett interjected, “we are?”

Jordan replied saying “yeah.”

“I have seen you gavel down on quite a number of witnesses,” Plaskett remarked.

“What we’re giving senators or former Democrat members of congress and all kinds of folks my time,” Jordan intervened.

“He’s neither, he’s neither,” Plaskett interjected.

“I’m just saying in past history in the committee, we’ll give…” Jordan said.

Plaksett cut him off saying, “OK, OK Let’s just watch the time for all the witnesses.”

“And if you want to cut him off and censor him some more you’re welcome to do it,” Jordan replied, getting a rouse of the crowd.

“Oh, that’s not my job, that’s your job. Why don’t you threaten the witness so that they can not want to be a witness,” Plaskett remarked.

“Mr. Kennedy, Mr. Kennedy is recognized as a witness for his opening statement, we’ll give him five minutes more or less, and then we’ll move to the next one. Mr Kennedy go right ahead,” Jordan said to Kennedy.

Kennedy then proceeded with his opening statement, “thank you, Mr. Chairman.”

Plaskett proceeded to cut off Kennedy. during his opening statement and said “Mr. Chairman, maybe we could put five minutes on the clock then, not ten?”

Jordan replied, “can we put five on the clock and start it running.”

After a long pause and a sigh, Kennedy began his opening statement.
