Jim Jordan (R-OH), chairman of the Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee, intends on holding hearings next week that expose the victims of Bragg’s political policies, according to the New York Post. The Manhattan DA who has weakly tried to elevate an alleged misdemeanor to a felony against Donald Trump has the opposite tendency for offenders. This policy has led toward, in the words of one source speaking to the New York Post, “New York’s rampant crime [problem]” whose victims will appear before Congress.
The same source noted that [i]t’s unclear if committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) will invite Bragg…[but] the move hasn’t been ruled out.” The source expounded that “‘victims’ of Bragg’s ‘failure to prosecute’ are expected to be witnesses, though they were not immediately able to share the expected witness list. Before pursuing the indictment against Trump, Bragg, an elected Democrat, downgraded the severity of charges against many offenders.”
The New York Post reported that upon taking office, Mr. Bragg “downgraded 52% of felony cases to misdemeanors” and that “his office won a conviction just 51% of the time.” The New York Post added further context by noting that “Both percentages were lower than in comparable recent years.”
Bragg has taken a defiant stance toward the House Committee and has refused, according to the New York Post, to provide the requested documents to the Republican House of Representatives. Alvin Bragg has branded such requests as undermining “an active investigation and ongoing criminal case” and as “intruding on the sovereignty of the state of New York”.

The New York Post reported that “one of his [Bragg’s] aides even hanging up on a Judiciary Committee staffer after telling them to ‘stop calling us with this bulls–t.’” All of this maneuvering and grandstanding by Bragg belies the fact that the Democrat’s case against the former Republican president is absurd. As one lawyer wrote about the Manhattan DA’s witch hunt against Mr. Trump that “[t]he D.A.’s team checked some of their basic knowledge of the law at the door.”
Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) himself tweeted about the prospective hearing that “Alvin Bragg’s radical pro-crime, anti-victim policies have led to an increase in violent crime in New York City. Next week, the Judiciary Committee will examine these policies during a field hearing in Manhattan.”

The Ohio lawmaker noted with irony about the case that “First, they [the government] spied on his [Trump’s] campaign. Then, they raided his [Trump’s] home. Now, they indicted him on campaign violations, when he didn’t even spend campaign funds!”
