Joe Rogan Gives Spotify an Ultimatum, Could Leave the Platform Altogether

Popular Podcast host Joe Rogan is in the news again. And as usual, the maverick figure is bucking trends. After receiving a large sum of money to be Spotify exclusive, one might have expected Rogan to dial down his rhetoric, in order to be less threatening to his corporate overlords. But so far, Rogan has been anything but safe. Rogan has discussed the pandemic in a very controversial way. Right or wrong, Rogan is never quiet about his views. And we thank him for not being quiet — for he often stands for the truth, even if he is certainly no conservative.

After getting more pressure recently from the left-wing media, Rogan’s future on the platform has been called into question. By and large, Spotify has stood by its star. For instance, after Neil Young and a string of other musicians threatened to leave Spotify if Rogan was allowed to stay, Spotify remarkably showed them the door. All the same, the company has occasionally limited Rogan’s voice — either by adding warnings to the beginning of his podcasts or else deleting many of his past podcasts. But Rogan has stood by his company — that is until he said what he said yesterday.

Yesterday, Rogan went on his podcast and said something truly stunning — it is conceivable that Rogan might leave Spotify. As The New York Post reports, Rogan said the following:

“I will quit. If it gets to a point that I can’t do it anymore, where I have to do it in some sort of weird way where I walk on eggshells and mind my p’s and q’s, f–k that!”

Rogan just gave Spotify an ultimatum — respect Joe’s free speech or else! We hope they will comply. Spotify has been admirable in its support of the First Amendment so far. IF they continue to support their star and his right to make his voice heard, they will be a shining light for all companies embattled by the woke left and their war against one of the most fundamental rights we have as Americans and indeed, human persons created in the Image of God.
