Kamala Harris Gets Terrible News After Mainstream Media Op-Ed Demands She Step Down 'For The Country's Sake'

On Friday, the Washington Post published an opinion piece by Kathleen Parker that called for Vice President Kamala Harris to step down "for the country's sake" and warned that keeping her on the ticket could be the downfall of Biden's 2024 reelection campaign. 

Parker pointed out that Harris, who previously served as the attorney general and then a senator from California, has been put in the background of the administration to be kept quiet and that she was picked for the job because of her race and gender, not because of her political skills. 

"Whatever the reasons, it has seemed that Harris's role was to be quiet, lest she embarrass her boss with her sometimes inane, rambling remarks and a laugh that erupts from nowhere about nothing obvious to others," she wrote. "The Kamala conundrum comes down to this: She was picked because she was Black and female, a combo tantamount to job security. Now that she has become a burden to the Democratic ticket, Biden can't fire her. He can't risk alienating his base. Full stop. The seriousness of this situation can't be overstated. Biden's diminishing faculties, notwithstanding his relatively successful State of the Union address, and his increasing physical frailty are concerning."

"Her performance as second in command has been disappointing, to say the least," Parker wrote, adding that Harris will be the focus of even more attention as Biden's age continues to weigh on the minds of American voters. A recent ABC News/Ipsos survey conducted last month showed that 86 percent of Americans believe Biden is too old to serve another term in the White House. 

The editorial also noted that Harris has one of the lowest approval ratings of any vice president in history, with only 37.2 percent of Americans approving her job performance compared to 52.3 percent disapproving. "There's no reason to think her ranking would spike were she suddenly promoted to the Oval Office. Instead, most signs point to disaster," the author explains. "This is why I propose with all due respect that Harris step away from the ticket."

Parker concluded her editorial by calling upon Harris to resign from the ticket in exchange for some kind of deal, like being attorney general in the next term; however, she did not indicate who she would support in replacing Harris on the ticket. Parked added that "Democrats and Republicans alike would be relieved" if Harris stepped down and Biden picked a more competent running mate, and the editorial concluded with, "Please, Madame Vice President, do it for your country."
