'Chris Christie Can Go Back To Keeping His Local Golden Corral In Business': Kari Lake Calls On Republican Candidates To Drop Out And Stand With Trump – 'Get On The Right Side Of History'

Prominent conservative figure Kari Lake called on all Republican candidates currently running against Donald Trump in the 2024 race to drop out and get on “the right side of history,” stating that it’s already obvious who is going to win the nomination.

“I’ll tell you what,” Lake said in an interview with The Daily Caller. “These people who are running against President Trump– They have an opportunity right now to get on the right side of history and stop this circus of the primary. We all know that President Trump is going to win this and stop wasting money. When they are running against President Trump they are truly running against the people and they’re on the same side as Joe Biden and the rest of the uniparty.”

“I think they need to put their campaigns on hold,” she continued. “I mean look, Nikki Haley, she can go back to her cushioned lifestyle as a board member at Boeing. Tim Scott, actually one of the most principled guys– conservative guys, we need him to stay there.”

“Mike Pence frankly needs to retire after Tucker Carlson ended his political career and Ron should go back and govern the state of Florida. The people of Florida just elected and from what I’ve seen the people of Iowa aren’t that interested in him. And Chris Christie can go back to keeping his local Golden Corral in business. It’s time to unite behind our nominee, President Donald J. Trump,” she finished.

The comments, while undoubtedly harsh, come from a concern among many Republicans that by dividing everyone over who should be the nominee the party is worsening its chances in the coming 2024 election. There may have been a time when the GOP nomination had some level of competitiveness to it but based on any polling from the last month that time has completely passed.

No one is going to be able to surpass Trump with Republican support. When the former president is polling in the sixties and the next highest person is sitting in the teens, it’s essentially a wrap on who will secure the nomination.

Now, that doesn’t mean that these candidates need to completely drop off the face of the Earth. As Lake said, some do have notable positions to go back to but there is also the question of who will run alongside Trump in 2024.

Trump himself floated the idea on his Truth Social account of having the nominees debate for the vice president position, writing, “Let them debate so I can see who I MIGHT consider for Vice President!” The idea has merit to it though many candidates are only in the race for the Oval Office itself.

Ultimately, while yes, the comments made by Lake are overly harsh when attacking her fellow Republicans, it comes from a place of genuine concern. The race for the GOP nomination is all but over and anything more is only going to serve to further divide the party, something no one wants for 2024.
