On Wednesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre attacked and condemned Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) for his use of razor wire barriers at the southern border to quell the surging migrant masses that have been flooding in under the Biden administration.
"Texas has been installing these buoys along with razor wire on the Rio Grande near Eagle Pass. Mexico is now requesting that Texas remove these barriers. They say the state is violating international treaties and that they raised this with the administration three weeks ago. Do you agree with Mexico that Texas is violating these international treaties?" a reporter asked the press secretary, per Fox News.
"This governor … has treated the situation that we're seeing at the border in an inhumane way," Jean-Pierre responded. "It is atrocious, the actions that he decides to take. He takes this [action] instead of dealing with this issue in a way that we can get to a resolution and working together, he turns it into a political stunt."
The press secretary then said "I can't speak to conversations three weeks ago with the Mexican government. I don't have any information to share if that came up in a conversation."
Mexico had previously sent a diplomatic note to the US federal government saying that Texas releasing floating barriers into the Rio Grande River may violate treaties related to boundaries and waters. This is likely what the conversation with the government is referring to, though as no proper information is given it’s not entirely known.
At the time the government of Mexico reached out, the buoys were only a plan and have since been implemented earlier in July, per USA Today. The use of these buoys has caused a notable amount of pushback from dissenters attempting to claim that the move will cause danger to migrants at the borders.
Regardless of the opposition from federal agencies and Mexico, Abbott has continued to move forward doing all that he can to ensure the security of the southern border. Liberals are whining about the safety of migrants all the while they’re not at all concerned about the safety of American citizens when hoards of illegals are pouring across the border and overwhelming American agencies.
Perhaps if the White House or any other federal agency did anything to properly secure the southern American border there’d be some level of legitimacy to their complaints, but since they simply whine about the safety of migrants while encouraging the mass importation of them their complaints will only fall on deaf ears.
