Award-Winning Actor Kirk Cameron Scalds Public School System For Grooming And Critical Race Theory Instruction

Former child actor Kirk Cameron has come out against public schools for subjecting children to critical race theory, ‘chaos,’ and ‘racial confusion.’

The actor attacked the schools for being grooming hubs as well as places for the proliferation of far-left ideologies.

In an interview with Fox News, Cameron states that “the problem is that public school systems have become so bad. It’s sad to say they’re doing more for grooming, sexual chaos, and the progressive Left than any real educating about the things that most of us want to teach our kids.”

Cameron continued by calling for parents to take a role in their children’s education and homeschool them. Cameron and his wife Chelsea made the decision to homeschool their six children, but it was not a choice that originally came easy.

Cameron comes from a family of teachers in the U.S. school system, but admitted that although they were good teachers, they were a “light in the darkness.”

“Homeschool was not on our radar screen because we had these misconceptions and stereotypes like so many people do. Like, you know, that’s for like Quakers and the Amish, and how could you possibly teach your kids enough so that they get into college? What about socialization?”

In the end, Cameron learned that there are many misconceptions about homeschooling and the misconceptions are generally untrue.

“When you’re together as a family … you’re able to travel, … [and] you’re not locked into a schedule that everyone else is locked into, you can discover your own individuality and uniqueness. And it really lends itself to a healthy, flourishing community in your home.”

Cameron continues, “Yes, there are hard days. Yes, there are times when you just feel like pulling your hair out. But it’s nothing compared to wanting to go back and do it all over again. If you see that your children went down a road and you can’t pull them back, how did they lose their faith? How did they get pulled into an ideology that undermines everything that is going to lead to their success?”

Cameron points out many of the issues that plague the youth of our nation in the public school system. Oftentimes, the material approved for teaching is greenlit by individuals who have different (and oftentimes more sinister) agendas than that of the parents.

Cameron and his wife have become well aware of the issue and are now set to release their own movie on homeschooling on June 13. The movie, The Homeschooling Awakening, will cover 17 families who found their way through the challenges of homeschooling and tackled the common misconceptions associated with it. Cameron and his family will also be a part of the movie discussing their experience as homeschooling parents.
