'Our Founding Fathers Warned Us About You': Hundreds Of Armed Protesters Rally Against The New Mexico's Governor Unconstitutional Order - 'Come And Take It'

Residents of New Mexico are not happy with the governor’s gun ban with a massive number of protesters gathering in Albuquerque on Sunday, openly showing off their banned firearms, while the police do not intervene.

As previously covered by the DC Enquirer, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-NM) issued an emergency order on Friday suspending the constitutional right to carry firearms. This came right after she issued an executive order on Thursday that declared gun violence within the state a public health emergency. 

The protest features an impressive number of individuals holding signs and flags alongside their firearms, all extremely disgruntled with the recent order. The protesting gear included flags such as Gadsden, “Don’t tread on me," flag and the American flag as well as signs reading “Our founding fathers warned us about you” or “Come and take it.”

The protest stayed entirely civil despite the strong opinions of those there. Even with counterprotesters showing up, nothing escalated, with one person who was seemingly for the ban being allowed to speak their mind. 

The anti-gun protestor was brought into the gazebo where the microphone was and given time to speak. He was initially booed for wearing a mask to an outdoor event but upon taking it off the crowd merrily cheered for the man while he waved the mask around and danced. 

He brought up concerns about gun violence occurring in schools, something that undoubtedly warranted concern. The crowd was happy to show his concern proper attention, retorting with suggestions to mitigate the violence such as keeping armed veterans at the schools or arming teachers. 

A major point discussed was the lengths that the protestors would need to go to ensure results. Attendees were encouraged to keep coming back every day to ensure that the desired result was achieved. 

It’s not just the pro-gun advocates at the rally that are displeased with Gov. Grisham's actions, with strong anti-gun advocates like David Hogg slamming her for her actions. As previously covered by the DC Enquirer, the school shooting survivor pointed out the unconstitutionality of the order issued by her office.

Other Democrats have also brought up the constitutional violation of her order like Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) thus sending a strong message from both the right and the left that what Grisham is doing is blatantly violating her citizens' rights. 

State representatives in New Mexico have already begun calling for an impeachment of the Democratic governor, pointing to the order violating New Mexico's constitutionally guaranteed right to bear arms.
