America's Largest Teacher Union Releases Summer Reading List That Includes 'Gender Queer' And Other Inappropriate Books

The National Education Association (NEA), which is the largest teacher union in all of America, revealed on Monday the bizarre and awful recommendation of the controversial book ‘Gender Queer’ on their summer reading lists, which features depictions of masturbation and oral sex, among other inappropriate things.

The group released their “Great Summer Reads for Educators,” a list that has varying categories like “books that make you forget work” and “books that will make you a better educator.” However, mixed in these seemingly innocent recommendations are ones that are much more concerning.

Within their “banned books: celebrate the freedom to read!” category, the group decided to include ‘Gender Queer,’ which has caused many to question the decision-making behind the list. The oddities of the list don’t just end there, with an entire section called “Books to celebrate or understand Juneteenth.” One of the books included in this section, ‘White Fragility,' attempts to persuade readers that White Americans use anger, shame, and guilt to avoid taking proper responsibility for slavery.

Both books seemed like odd recommendations for teachers to be giving or receiving. The list claims the intent of the recommendations is so that they “can better understand their colleagues, students, and families they serve.” It is worth noting the list states that “The books here are not recommended for students,” nonetheless, how does reading about masturbation and alleged White anger allow teachers to better understand the environment they’re teaching in?

The simple answer, of course, is that it doesn’t. The NEA is simply an organization that is clearly politically biased and is pushing these biases out there for the world to see. The group would love for teachers to read the books they recommend and become indoctrinated into the beliefs because then they can go on and indoctrinate the kids that they teach as well.

The NEA has even declared its intent to push radical ideas through the organization, with Fox News previously reporting on how liberal ideas are at the core of the group's beliefs.

"For us at the NEA, education justice must be about racial justice, it must be about social justice, it must be about climate justice. It must be about all of those things," the president of the group, Becky Pringle, said. "For our students to be able to come to school ready to learn every day--We can never think of education as an isolated system because everything connects to our students' ability to learn.”

“So, we have to necessarily talk about housing justice, food inequality, and the reality that we all just went through a global pandemic together and course, it was the most marginalized communities that were already suffering from the inequities in every single social system in this country and every country."

Of course, none of what Pringle pushed for in her speech has any need to be included in schools, but the point of the NEA is to bring radical leftist ideas into schools. The recommendations by the group should be widely disregarded by any common sense teacher and most definitely disregarded by any student.
