LOCK BRAGG UP? Dershowitz Says Alvin Bragg Could Face Up To Five Years In Prison As Trump Indictment Begins To Backfire

Far-left District Attorney Alvin Bragg could face up to five years in prison if he is responsible for leaking 45th President and leading 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump’s frivolous indictment.

Leaking grand jury testimony is a Class E felony under New York state law and carries a prison sentence between one and five years.

“A Class E felony charge is considered more serious than a misdemeanor charge, and as such carries a potentially longer jail sentence. While a Class A misdemeanor in New York carries a sentence of up to 364 days, a Class E felony can result in a sentence of between one year and five years,” according to The Law Offices of Julie Rendelman.

Legal scholar and attorney Alan Dershowitz wrote in an op-ed for the New York Sun on Friday, “It is likely that a serious felony has been committed right under District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s nose and he is not investigating it. Under New York law, it is a felony to leak confidential grand jury information, such as whether the jurors voted to indict.”

“The protection of secrecy is as applicable to President Trump as it is to anyone else,” Dershowitz added.

“We know that the information was disclosed while the indictment itself remains sealed and before any official announcement was made or charges brought. It is unlikely that the leak came from the Trump team, which seemed genuinely surprised,” he said.

“It is possible of course that an investigation is underway, but it seems more likely that Mr. Bragg is too busy making up a crime against the man he promised in his campaign to get than investigating a real crime that took place on his watch,” Dershowitz assumed.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson has said the crime of leaking Trump’s sealed indictment is much bigger than the frivolous crimes Trump is being indicted for.

“And if that isn’t third world enough, someone leaked the news of Donald Trump’s grand jury indictment to the media,” Carlson said.

“Now that in itself is a crime under the law in New York, in fact, a much bigger crime than those under which Donald Trump is being charged,” Carlson added.

The New York County Clerk’s office issued an order on March 31 stating Bragg is only allowed to disclose to the public that Trump’s indictment has been issued.

On Tuesday, Trump is expected to be fingerprinted and have a mug shot taken in New York. After the booking is complete, Trump will appear before a judge for his arraignment where he will face 30 currently unknown charges due to Bragg’s sealed indictment.

Trump’s campaign announced on Sunday that after he flies back from New York to Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, Trump is set to deliver remarks about his experience at his Mar-A-Lago club.

Trump’s lawyers are bracing for Judge Justice Juan Merchan to place a gag order on Trump in an attempt to prevent him from speaking about his arrest on Tuesday.

Under New York law, the fine for breaking a gag order holds a penalty of either 30 days in jail or a $1,000 fine.

Bragg, who has been exposed as being funded by a group supported by far-left billionaire George Soros, was able to get a Manhattan grand jury to vote to indict Trump on Thursday.

Adult film “star” Stormy Daniels was ordered to pay Trump $300,000 after losing a defamation case against him. However, on Thursday, a Manhattan grand jury voted to indict President Trump over a $130,000 payment to Daniels made by his former lawyer and now-convicted liar, Michael Cohen.

This makes Trump the first American president to ever face criminal charges.

The Color of Change PAC, the “nation’s largest online racial justice organization”, which was given $1 million in May 2021 from Soros, gave $1 million to Bragg but later pulled back half of their donation.
