WATCH: Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Sears SLAMS The Push To Respect Nashville Shooter’s Preferred Pronouns – ‘You Murdered Six People’

On Friday, Virginia Lieutenant Governor Winsome (R-VA) Sears told Bill Maher, host of HBO’s ‘Real Time’, that the Nashville school shooter lost their right to demand ‘preferred pronouns’ when they killed people.

After guest James Kirchick pointed out that the media wasn’t respecting the preferred pronouns of the transgender Nashville shooter, Sears voiced her mind, saying, “hang on. You know what, this person murdered six people; I don’t really care who you say you are. You murdered six people and three of them were children. You don’t get a say, well, she’s dead now, so, but you don’t get a say in telling us who you are and what you’re about. You killed six people. That’s what really matters.”

Sears went further, explaining, “but here is the thing. I am a parent. I am a parent all day. I get to decide what happens in my child’s life — not you, not the government, not anybody. I don’t co-parent. I had this child, I am responsible for this child, anything happens to little Johnny, you are calling me! Right? As you should.”

“If I do not want my child given lap dances at school by a drag queen, I do not want it done. That is happening,” Sears added.

When guest James Kirchick pressed Sears on if the state should have a right to ban such a thing, Sears doubled down on her remarks. She claimed this is preeminently a matter of parents’ rights — and that means parents should have a say in what events their children are exposed to.

“I am talking about as a parent — forget the state. I am a parent. This is my child. I will make a decision about what happens with my child.”

Maher then insinuated that no “lap dances” were happening at the drag queen events Sears was referencing. Sears replied that Bill Maher needed to look into the situation further.

“It is happening… there are drag queens that are doing pole dances… Bill, you got to read more,” Sears ended by saying.
