WATCH: Leftist Bill Maher PRAISES Ron DeSantis For How He Handled The COVID Pandemic

This Tuesday, Bill Maher, the host of HBO’s ‘Real Time With Bill Maher,’ praised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for his masterful handling of the Covid-19 pandemic,

Maher, who was in Flordia for the pandemic, had been critical of how the Covid-19 outbreak was handled during the height of the crisis. Despite being decidedly left-wing in his political views, he lands on the right regarding COVID-19.

“It was night and day from this place. And I am not one who was ever on the page with COVID paranoia,” Maher told CNN host Jake Tapper. “So, I thought it was a breath of fresh air. And the people there, when they would visit me here sometimes, they would say, oh my God — in the middle of the pandemic — what are you — you people live like this? It’s so unnecessary.”

Maher also argued DeSantis can live in two worlds — the world of the “old-school Republican” and the world of the new-school, populist Republican party.

“You know, the reason he is so effective is that he does two things at once. He can be a real old-school Republican who just takes care of business, you know, COVID, the hurricane, stuff like that. He just goes about his business. He doesn’t do crazy stuff,” Maher said. “But then, when he wants to throw red meat to the base, he’s a performance artist. And he does a lot of really outrageous stuff. But I get it that that’s where the party is.”

Of course, Maher is largely insulting the Republican Party with his latter remarks. But as per usual, Maher has it all wrong. DeSantis is no performance artist. But his competence flows from the fact that the MAGA movement accurately diagnoses many of the problems America faces. Old-school Republicans may have been all about “taking care of business,” but in so many areas, they did just the opposite. Fortunately for the Republican Party today, the MAGA and America First movement is here and it is here to stay. With figures like Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis at the helm, America may just well have a bright future in the years ahead.
