'They Will Force Your Compliance': Marjorie Taylor Greene SLAMS Biden For Forcing High Gas Prices On Americans With Latest 'Green New Deal' Move

On Thursday, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) tore President Joe Biden apart after he announced that his administration would cancel “all remaining oil and gas leases” in the Western Arctic despite rising gas prices in the United States. 

The announcement was made late Wednesday night in a tweet from the president's official account, reading, “My Administration is canceling all remaining oil and gas leases issued under the last administration in the Arctic Refuge and proposing to protect 13 million acres in the Western Arctic. There's more to do, but we’re taking action to meet the moment for future generations.”

The announcement comes just days after a report that gas prices spiked 30 cents during July, with the average cost for a gallon of gas being $3.83, per the DC Enquirer. In comparison, the average gallon of gas cost a measly $2.18 back in August of 2020. Gas still is a bit away from its peak cost of $5.01, which it got back in June 2022, but the rise is certainly a worrying one. 

Rep. Greene certainly wasn’t too happy with the decision made by the administration, writing, “The Biden admin is driving up the cost of gas on purpose. They want to force Americans to buy EVs by making gas and diesel unaffordable. They don’t care if you go broke in the process. They will force your compliance to their communists manifesto, the Green New Deal.”

The comments of the Georgia congresswoman have merit to them as notable Democrats have pushed the idea that as prices for gas rise, it will incentivize Americans to purchase electric vehicles. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg infamously told Congress last year that if people are having problems with the high price of gas they should look to buy EVs, per the DC Enquirer.

Unfortunately, EVs also don’t intend to be friendly to the wallet any time soon. Ford CEO Jim Farley told investors back in June of this year that electric vehicles will continue to be more costly than gas vehicles until at least 2030, maybe even later, per the DC Enquirer. 

The Democratic party and the Biden administration specifically seem intent on continuing to bow down to an extremely small minority of climate freaks who would rather watch every American suffer under a straining economy than tap the resources that the country has beneath its land. Until they open their eyes and realize the average American's ability to function is more important than appealing to a small group of hippies, things won’t get any better.
