Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls on NYPD to Take Action During NYC Protest of Trump Indictment

On Tuesday morning, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took to Twitter to call upon New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) and NYPD to arrest counter-protesters who are planning to disrupt a demonstration being held by the New York Young Republican Club and attended by the Georgia lawmaker.

“I’m here in NY to protest with my voice against the weaponization of the justice system on innocent President Trump, but the counter-protestors are coming to commit assault that can cause audible damage to everyone’s ears including NYPD,” Greene wrote on Twitter. “But Mayor Adams warns me by name!”

“If counter-protestors are violating freedom of speech and committing assault, they should be arrested,” she added.

“According to NY law, the counter-protesters planned, organized, and funded behavior is considered disorderly conduct,” she continued. “[NYC Mayor] better direct NYPD to lock these people up. He said he wasn’t tolerating violence of any kind.”

Greene also posted an image of a mass text sent to prospective counter-protesters that asked them to bring instruments, pots and pans, and whistles in order to drown out Trump’s supporters. “Come make some noise to shut down her hate, lies, and nonstop ridiculousness!” the text message read.

On Monday, Mayor Adams called upon Greene and Trump supporters to ‘behave themselves’ during the arraignment.

“There will be some rabble-rousers thinking about coming to our city tomorrow, it is clear and simple: control yourselves,” Mayor Adams said during a press conference. “New York City is our home, not a playground for your misplaced anger.”

“We are the safest large city in America because we respect the rule of law in New York City,” the mayor claimed despite overseeing a massive surge in crime in recent years.

“Although we have no specific threats, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is known to spread misinformation and hate speech, stated she is coming to town. While you are in town, be on your best behavior,” he demanded. “As always we will not allow violence or vandalism of any kind. If one is caught participating in any act of violence they will be arrested and held accountable no matter who you are.”

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) will be hosting a protest on Tuesday morning in Manhattan with Greene in attendance as President Trump is expected to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.

As of this report, there has been one scuffle so far during the protest but it is expected to be peaceful overall given the proven track record of peaceful protest by the NYYRC. Additionally, Greene has called upon those attending to remain peaceful.

“Protesting is a constitutional right and I am going to NY on Tuesday to protest this unprecedented abuse of our justice system and election interference,” Greene explained. “I also reject any attempt and anyone who dresses in MAGA but incites violence or commits violence while pretending to be one of us. You are not one of us, you are one of them.”

Americans are going to have their voices heard in Manhattan despite the counter-protesters’ attempts to drown out their voices.
