More Winning: Trump Racks Up Major Endorsement In His Bid For The White House

Donald J. Trump, the front-running Republican candidate for the White House in 2024, has secured yet another key endorsement. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT), the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has endorsed the former Republican president on a podcast hosted by the 45th president’s son, Donald Trump Jr. Mr. Daines’s endorsement is significant in the fact that he is one of the highest ranking Republicans to endorse Mr. Trump, according to Just the News.

Jonathan Swan, a New York Times reporter, summarized the endorsement in the following terms: “Trump has secured one of his most important Capitol Hill endorsements for a 2024 presidential bid: Senator Steve Daines of Montana, the chairman of the Senate Republicans’ campaign arm. Did it with Don Jr.”

During the podcast with the former president’s son, Mr. Daines recalled, “The best four years I’ve had in the U.S. Senate was when President Trump was serving in the Oval Office.” He then pivoted to the endorsement when he said “For these reasons and many others I’m proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for president of the United States.” Daines’s chairmanship of the organization tasked with reclaiming the upper chamber of Congress for the Grand Old Party means that such an endorsement may yet carry other Republican Senators to break for Trump.

Already Trump has racked up an impressive 10 Senatorial endorsements from Senator Blackburn (R-TN) to Senator Vance (R-OH). Both current and former Republicans in the lower chamber of Congress, the House of Representatives, have not been shy in endorsing Trump for his 2024 run either.

Former Representative Lee Zeldin (R-NY) endorsed Mr. Trump on Monday. He tweeted that “The GOP is filled with amazing talent to save our country from the failed policies of the Biden Admin. Our nominee in 2024 will be the 45th & 47th POTUS, Donald Trump. Our economy will be stronger, our streets will be safer, & our lives will be freer. He has my full support!”

The 45th president’s racking up of statements of support and endorsement in the Florida House delegation has also been impressive, especially in light of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s shadow campaign and attempt to woo said delegation. According to the Tampa Bay Times, former congressman David Jolly said that “The dam is breaking in Florida politics and it’s breaking toward Trump and away from Ron DeSantis…This is a humiliating week for Ron DeSantis.”
