WATCH: Mugshot Was 'Terrible Experience' Trump Says In Post-Arrest Interview

Donald J. Trump, the 45th president of the United States and the pre-eminent GOP frontrunner for 2024, called into 'Greg Kelly Reports' on Newsmax shortly after he appeared for booking and arraignment at the Fulton County jail in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday. During the interview, Trump described having his mug shot taken as a "terrible experience."

According to Newsmax, Trump told host Greg Kelly, "I never heard the words 'mug shot.' They didn't teach me that the Wharton School of Finance." He called into the show from Trump Force One en route back to his Mar-a-Lago home.

He added somberly,

"It's a very sad experience, and it's a very sad day for our country. This is a weaponized Justice Department."

"It's just like one thing after the next," Trump added regarding the now four indictments he's faced. "And what they want to do is they want to try and wear you out ... just an absolutely horrible thing that they're doing. And I've never seen anything like it. This is Third World country."

Discussing others who have been indicted, Trump told Kelly, "It's a very sad thing, but Rudy can handle it. But I look at some of the other people now. I don't know a lot of those people. I don't even know that I've met a lot of those people, but some might do and their lives are destroyed by these maniacs. These are animals is a vicious animals that have destroyed the lives of these people. Greg, it's so sad and they don't have a lot of money. And some of them get almost nothing. They don't even know what they're being judged for."

Jokingly, Trump warned that Kelly could be implicated simply for Trump mentioning his name which the Newsmax host replied would be "a badge of honor. Quite frankly."

When asked who performed well during the GOP debate on Wednesday Trump told Kelly,

"I thought Vivek, as we say Vivek like cake. But I thought he was very good, especially like where said I was the greatest president. In his lifetime and long beyond. That's pretty good. I said. Are you sure he's running against me? But I thought he was very good."

He added, "Uh I wasn't impressed with a lot. I mean, Christie got booed out of the room. He literally should have walked off this stage that been watching debates for a long time. I've never seen anyone booed like that . Uh Asa. I call him Ada Hutchinson. He shouldn't even be there. He's wasting room is wasting space and he's wasting time. The guy's got, like One half of one. And he doesn't stop and he's a nasty person, You know."
