‘RIP Cancel Culture:’ Elon Musk Hammers Cancel Culture Leftists Following Explosive Joe Rogan Interview

Twitter owner Elon Musk declared the demise of cancel culture this Tuesday after podcaster Joe Rogan interviewed journalist Matt Taibbi about the explosive ‘Twitter Files’ on his ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast.

“RIP Cancel Culture, you won’t be missed,” Musk tweeted.

Musk was responding to a video in which Rogan said, “now people aren’t scared to speak their mind on Twitter. Like you’re seeing so much pushback. When someone types something on Twitter now, and it’s ridiculous, now people aren’t scared to go in after it. They are not worried about losing their account — which they were before. Which, I think, is one of the more interesting things about Elon Musk buying Twitter.”

“You are seeing a much more vigorous debate,” Rogan added.

To this, Taibbi replied, “I hope that’s one of the results. The old Twitter was just a grindstone of official messaging where if you said like a micrometer outside of whatever the narrative was, you could expect to be descended upon by all these people. So you just ended up not wanting to bother. So, you wouldn’t say anything. But, you know, I hope people are feeling encouraged to say more now.”

“But as my experience shows, you can still end up getting lots and lots of s**t in the media for doing the wrong thing, and that can last quite a long time,” Taibbi added.

Taibbi is referencing journalistic attacks directed at his role in unveiling the Twitter files to the public. Taibbi himself is no right-winger — in fact, he stood opposed to the America First policies that made our country great over the course of four years. He wrote a book called “Insane Clown President” directed at Donald Trump. But he is a proponent of free speech, and he recognizes the role free speech plays in a functioning democracy. Fortunately for America, so does Twitter owner Elon Musk.

We cannot have a cancel culture if we want our civilization to move forward. The free exchange of ideas is essential to America as established and big-tech censorship is contrary to the founding ideal.
