FIRE: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ New Ad SKEWERS Flip-Floppin Anthony Fauci: ‘Fauci Can Pound Sand’

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis released a new ad today that will surely generate attention. The ad centers on President Joe Biden’s Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci. Dr. Fauci has been the subject of significant criticism recently. The criticism is multifaceted, centering both on his handling of the COVID pandemic and his alleged connections to supposed “gain of function” research performed in the Wuhan region of China around the time of COVID-19’s origin. Recently, Rand Paul, the Republican Senator out of Kentucky, has been prolific in his ridicule towards Dr. Fauci’s COVID messaging and Wuhan connections  — posting a “Fire Dr. Fauci” page on his website. This culminated in several heated encounters between the two men, which rocked the political landscape. This background highlights the controversies that follow Dr. Fauci everywhere he goes.

In keeping with these attacks, the Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has likewise had a rocky relationship with Dr. Fauci. As far back as 2020, when the virus was still young, and President Trump was still in the White House, Dr. Fauci expressed concern over Florida reopening bars. More recently, Dr. Fauci has criticized Ron DeSantis’s freedom-oriented take on mandates, claiming such policies are “inappropriate” given the weight of the current pandemic. DeSantis turned around and made light of the situation, selling koozies and shirts with a “Don’t Fauci My Florida” theme.

Ron DeSantis has emerged as an important figure in 2022 America. Many consider DeSantis a 2024 Republican Presidential frontrunner — second only to Former President Trump. When DeSantis decides to release an ad, it is sure to have an impact. The ad (below) is sure to continue that trend. Centering on Fauci’s inconsistent messaging, DeSantis tells the Doctor  to “pound sand”, favoring individual liberties over Fauci’s more aggressive policy suggestions:
