On Monday, it was announced that Tucker Carlson will be leaving Fox News with the host’s final show being last Friday, April 21st.
“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the network said in a statement, according to Forbes.
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” Fox continued in its statement. “Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday, April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, Carlson’s ouster was pushed out by Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch.
Murdoch was apparently concerned over Carlson’s coverage of January 6th after his blockbuster investigation into the events of that day earlier this year.
In Carlson’s coverage, the former Fox host shined a light on the various narratives pushed by the House Select Committee on January 6th and the Democrat Party in order to malign conservatives.
The decision to have Carlson leave the network was apparently not related to the recent $787 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.
While it is still not completely certain why Carlson decided to leave Fox, Murdoch likely did play a role in the decision to have the most-viewed cable news host leave the network.
JAMES O’KEEFE SHARES HEARTFELT MESSAGE AFTER TUCKER CARLSON’S DEPARTURE FROM FOX NEWS
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Tucker Carlson regularly had millions of viewers a night as Americans tuned in to witness his hard-hitting journalism and courage to buck the status quo and question mainstream narratives.
On Thursday evening, Tucker’s penultimate show, the Fox host pulled in 3,340,000 viewers thus blowing out the competition at CNN, Anderson Cooper got 1,150,000 viewers, and MSNBC, Chris Hayes pulled 1,420,000 viewers, per AdWeek.
Carlson clearly has a talent for attracting audiences to his shows with blockbuster interviews and stories taking place over the last few months. Just to name a few, Carlson interviewed 45th President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, he did a major investigation on January 6th, and he regularly enlightened his audience about the ongoing investigations into the Biden family.
According to Forbes, ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ regularly pulled in millions of viewers each week making him the highest-rated show in cable news. The week of February 12th, Tucker brought in nearly 3.5 million viewers with nearly half a million being in the coveted age bracket of 25-54.
Carlson will be successful in his next venture given his massive support from millions of Americans. More details will hopefully come to light that will explain Carlson’s departure from Fox. Perhaps even Carlson himself will address the country in the coming days.
