As Migrants Continue To Pour In, NYC Mayor Eric Adams Calls On Biden To Declare State Of Emergency - 'Past Our Breaking Point'

On Wednesday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) went back to his usual spiel of calling on the federal government to help the rapidly declining city manage its self-induced migrant crisis, but this time going an extra step further and saying that the Biden administration should declare a state of emergency to handle the migrant crisis.

"Since last year, nearly 100,000 asylum seekers have arrived in our city asking for shelter, and we are past our breaking point," Adams said in a statement, per Fox News. "New York City has been left to pick up the pieces of a broken immigration system – one that is projected to cost our city $12 billion over the course of three fiscal years without policy changes and further support from the state and federal governments."

"We saw the effects clearly last week outside the Roosevelt Hotel," Adams said. "Adult asylum seekers were sleeping on the pavement because our shelter system was full. I went again and again to speak with the men there. It broke my heart. It breaks this city's heart. Asylum seekers come here in search of a dream, not a nightmare."

He added that though the city’s “compassion may be limitless,” their “resources are not.” The city has so far spent upwards of $1.5 billion in 2023 to handle the influx of migrants being sent to the urban city and is projecting that they could spend a further $12 billion by 2025 to handle the illegals.

Both New York City and the state have already declared a state of emergency as far back as May due to the migrant crisis, funneling billions into the city to manage its manufactured issues, per the DC Enquirer. Most recently, Massachusetts had to declare its own state of emergency, announcing on Tuesday that the social services were overwhelmed and needed additional resources, per the DC Enquirer

Adam expressed his support of Governor Healey (D-MA) declaring the state of emergency, saying, “I agree with Massachusetts Gov. Healey. The federal government must take action.”

"We are also asking the federal government to declare a state of emergency," he continued. "Additionally, the federal government needs to provide more funding to match the reality of the cost on the ground," he said. "Finally, we need the federal government to lead a decompression strategy at the border so cities and states across the nation can do their part to shelter asylum seekers."

Notably, rather than ever calling for the Biden administration to handle the massive intake of migrants at the border, the liberal officials are instead calling for more funding so that they can spend more taxpayer dollars on illegals. In their eyes, it’s every American's responsibility to fund illegals who have no right to be in the country whether the citizens want to or not.

The simple solution is simply taking all the funding going into these migrant shelters and putting it into border security to stop the illegals from coming en masse, but of course, the Biden administration was never famous for its smart decisions. The crisis is intentionally made and happily at the expense and safety of law-abiding Americans.
