SHOCKING: Governor Newsom Will Deploy The National Guard To Combat Crime In San Francisco

Last Friday. California Governor Gavin Newsom (R-CA) announced plans to deploy National Guard troops to help combat rising crime rates in San Francisco. This move comes as part of a broader effort by the state government to address the growing public safety concerns in many of California’s major cities, including the fentanyl crisis.

“Two truths can co-exist at the same time: San Francisco’s violent crime rate is below comparably sized cities like Jacksonville and Fort Worth — and there is also more we must do to address public safety concerns, especially the fentanyl crisis,” said Governor Gavin Newsom in a press release last Friday. “We’re taking action. Through this new collaborative partnership, we are providing more law enforcement resources and personnel to crack down on crime linked to the fentanyl crisis, holding the poison peddlers accountable, and increasing law enforcement presence to improve public safety and public confidence in San Francisco.”

As Just The News reports, “Critics dispute the characterization that San Francisco has less violent crime due to policies that don’t result in arrests of violent criminals.” After all, in lawless liberal cities all across the country, crime is deemed to be a concern of secondary importance.

This led San Fransisco Mayor London Breed (D) to say, “I want to thank Governor Newsom for this critical support to help break up the open-air drug dealing happening in our city. Our Police Department and District Attorney have been partnering to tackle this issue and increase enforcement, but our local agencies can use more support. With the Governor’s leadership and clear direction, our state enforcement agencies can partner with us to make a difference for our residents, businesses, and workers who are living with the impacts every day.”

This is entirely backward. Instead, the real solution to this concern is to adopt more conservative policies — indeed, to be tough on crime. But radical liberals like Gavin Newsom are incapable of seeing the reality of the situation — and that reality includes the failures of Democrat mayors and governors all across America.
