On Friday, 45th President Donald Trump issued a heartwarming message for all of America's veterans ahead of Veterans Day on Saturday. The president, who is known for his pro-veteran policy positions and his foreign policy that kept America out of foreign wars, explained that Americans everywhere owe the men and women serving the country a debt of gratitude for their sacrifice.
"To our heroic Veterans, I am grateful for your service to our Country and honored to wish you a Happy Veterans Day!" Trump began. "There is no greater act of selfless service than defending America's God-given freedoms and liberty. The traditions of excellence and integrity demonstrated by our men and women in uniform never fade after leaving the Military—once a Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine, Coast Guardsman, or Guardian—always."
"Our Veterans will never stop fighting for the America we cherish. The full measure of your sacrifice and your family's dedication in support of your service may not be fully understood and appreciated, but it will never be forgotten," he explained. "On this Veterans Day and always, May God Bless you and your family, our Nation's Veterans, and our Military men and women, and May He Bless and uphold the United States of America. In addition to thanking veterans from each branch of the military, the former president also made sure to celebrate the Marine Corps 248th birthday with Trump explaining, "That motto, Semper Fidelis - Always Faithful - burns in the soul of every Marine, a sacred promise the Corps has kept since the birth of our country."
As the world continues to remain dangerous and conflict abroad engulfs various parts of the world, America's warfighters remain vigilant and ready to defend the country. Millions of Americans have already answered the call from World War I to the Vietnam War to the War on Terror.
