'Voting Has Already Begun': President Trump Weighs In On Another Presidential Debate Against Kamala Harris After Fox News Proposal

On Wednesday, 45th President Donald Trump responded to a request from Fox News to hold another presidential debate later this month against Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump, who has faced off against President Joe Biden in June and Vice President Harris in September, doubled down and denied the attempt at a second presidential debate as the campaign enters its final stretch and both candidates traverse the country attempting to convince voters in swing states to give them four years in the White House.

Fox News Media Executive Editor Jay Wallace and Vice President of Politics Jessica Loker proposed a second debate between the two candidates for October 24 or October 27, just days before Election Day and long after millions of voters will have gone to the polls to cast their ballots early. "This would present an opportunity for each candidate to make his or her closing arguments," the two Fox executives wrote. The 90-minute debate would include two commercial breaks and be moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.

Despite the generous offer from the conservative-leaning television network, President Trump denied the request, writing on Truth Social, "I WON THE LAST TWO DEBATES, ONE WITH CROOKED JOE, THE OTHER WITH LYIN' KAMALA. I ACCEPTED THE FOX-NEWS INVITATION TO DEBATE KAMALA ON SEPTEMBER 4TH, BUT SHE TURNED IT DOWN. JD VANCE EASILY WON HIS DEBATE WITH TAMPON TIM WALZ, WHO CALLED HIMSELF A KNUCKLEHEAD!"

The Republican presidential candidate gave several reasons why he would not participate in a second debate, including the fact that voting had begun and he was leading in the polls. "I AM ALSO LEADING IN THE POLLS, WITH THE LEAD GETTING BIGGER BY THE DAY - AND LEADING IN ALL SWING STATES. THE FIRST THING A PRIZEFIGHTER DOES WHEN HE LOSES A FIGHT IS SAY THAT HE 'DEMANDS A REMATCH.' IT IS VERY LATE IN THE PROCESS, VOTING HAS ALREADY BEGUN - THERE WILL BE NO REMATCH!" Trump explained. "BESIDES, KAMALA STATED CLEARLY, YESTERDAY, THAT SHE WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT THAN JOE BIDEN, SO THERE IS NOTHING TO DEBATE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!"

While Trump denied the possibility of a second debate, Vice President Harris accepted a debate request from CNN in Atlanta on October 23; however, Trump refused that request. In a statement earlier this month, the Harris campaign explained that the Democratic vice presidential candidate "believes that the American people deserve to see her and Trump on the debate stage one more time. She will be in Atlanta on October 23 – Donald Trump should step up and face the voters."
