Leftists are crying over a new commercial featuring Aubrey Plaza where she mocks plant-based milk, stating that “Only real milk is real.”
The Parks and Recreation star made the ad in tandem with the “Got Milk?” campaign, which is an advertising group that works to encourage the consumption of milk and other dairy products. The ad features Plaza walking satirically through a wood farm to milk the wood for the product.
Plaza proudly announces that she is “the co-founder of Wood Milk, the world’s first and only milk made from wood.” Plaza jokes that the idea came from her seeing a tree and thinking “‘Can I drink this.’”
The video then features other comedic bits, like Plaza noting that you need not pick a favorite flavor, as all of Wood Milk’s products just taste like milk, as well as notes that the cherry wood flavor brings out the flavor of cherry, but not the fruit.
Plaza finishes the commercial with “Is wood milk real. Absolutely not. Only real milk is real,” followed by the joking comment “Then what did I invest in?”
The purpose of the ad was to encourage consumers to consume real milk for its health benefits as opposed to alternate forms of milk, but this brought the ire of the vegan community. Plaza disabled the comments on her Instagram post featuring the ad.

Triggered leftists flooded Aubrey Plaza’s other Instagram posts, leaving comments like “So so so disappointed – please educate yourself …” and “What’s next Aubrey? Will you be promoting foie gras, veal, human slavery, or perhaps heroin next? Who needs ethics, Aubrey is for sale apparently.”
The hashtag #ditchdairy even began to be used more in response, and Vox went as far as to release an article attacking the actress for the advert and going into the process of how milk is produced.
The whole situation can only be described as utterly bizarre. The ad and the actress worked to poke fun at the ways that other non-milk kinds of milk attempt to sell their products, with the ad joking using phrases like “artisanal,” “eco-friendly,” and “free-range.”
The anger from the left only goes to show that they truly are willing to get angry at anything and everything. Such simple phrases as “Only real milk is real” can somehow draw such vehement reactions from so many people and would seem so utterly ridiculous, but these are the same people who believe that people who aren't women can give birth.
The advert is undoubtedly funny, and more than making fun of non-dairy milk, it highlights the deceptive way advertisers in the food industry attempt to paint their products as special whenever they are no different from the rest.
