WATCH: Nancy Pelosi Defends Biden's Age, Says Americans Should Embrace His 'Knowledge' - 'He's A Kid To Me'

During an appearance on 'Morning Joe' with Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, the Democrat ex-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) seemed to not merely miss the point of criticisms of President Joe Biden's advanced age and diminished mental capacities, but also seemed oblivious that she herself is subject of the same.

Mika Brzezinski opened up by asking in the most deferential tones possible what the 83-year-old California congresswoman thinks of the intensifying criticisms of Biden who is three years her junior.

"I think the president should embrace his age, his experience, the knowledge he brings to the job. Actually, the leader on the other side is not much younger. I don’t like to use his name, but you know who I mean. He’s not that much younger. So I don’t think – age is a relative thing. It is – and I think this president, our country is very well served by his leadership, again, his experience, his knowledge, and it counts for a lot," she said, according to Fox News.

Pelosi emphasized Biden's age paradoxically as an advantage despite numerous and obvious examples of his loss of focus, stamina, and questionable cognitive abilities.

"The president should embrace his age, his experience, and the knowledge that he brings to the job. Age is a relative thing. He's younger than I am so he's a kid to me."

Pelosi continued fawning praise on Biden, "So we want him to do his unfinished business. I couldn’t be prouder of him. And again, we’re very fortunate that he is in that position. But again, age is relative."

She then pivoted to pointing out other Democrats of extreme old age she is engaging with actively as exemplars, "What – I was in L.A. for some Democratic stuff recently and I met with Norman Lear, who's 100, going on 101. He was telling me some new shows he was involved in, I had a meeting with Frank Gehry, a 90- something architect, showing me new buildings he’s building throughout the world and they were like ‘80, he’s a kid.’ I was like yeah. It is relative. He’s younger than I am, so he’s a kid to me as well. The president is."

However, the exceptions here certainly don't prove the rule. According to a study in the National Institutes of Health, "24.2 percent of people 80 to 89, and 37.4 percent of those 90 years or older were estimated to have some type of dementia."

Biden has presented his age as an advantage in the past despite mounting concerns over his visible unsteadiness, advanced fatigue, and frequent instances of him appearing 'lost' or listless.

Naturally, Pelosi, who faced a major primary challenge in 2022 largely due to her age from Shahid Buttar who called her a “corrupt oligarch,” could hardly speak against Biden's downward spiral without calling attention to her own. So one has to ask, what was the 'Morning Joe' team's objective in asking her this when her response was all but pre-ordained? As for Pelosi, how could she possibly have any other opinion, when she is very, very much part of the problem of what New York Magazine called the "Gerontocracy" that is hurting America.
