Pete Buttigieg Hit With BRUTAL News After House Republicans Hold Him Accountable For His Failures

On Tuesday evening, House Republicans voted to slash Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg's yearly salary to a measly $1 as the Biden official's repeated transportation failures have earned him the title of the worst transportation secretary in American history. Buttigieg's current salary is around $220,000 a year.

According to Fox News, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) introduced the bill as an amendment to the 2024 Financial Services and General Government Appropriations Act, which oversees the funding of the General Services Administration (GSA) and other agencies.

"I'm proud to announce my amendment to FIRE Pete Buttigieg just PASSED the House. Pothole Pete staged fake bike rides to the White House and used private planes funded by taxpayers to receive awards for the way certain people have sex," Rep. Green wrote on X/Twitter. "American taxpayers should not be on the hook for paying for his lavish trips or his salary."

"Pete Buttigieg doesn't do his job. It's all about fake photo ops and taxpayer-funded private jet trips to accept LGBTQ awards for him," the GOP lawmaker added. "I'm happy my amendment passed, but he doesn't deserve a single penny."

Buttigieg, who gained fame after running for the Democratic nomination in 2020, was nominated by President Biden to his position in 2021, making him one of the first openly gay cabinet secretaries in the nation's history.

While his credentials as the small-town mayor of South Bend, Indiana, and a gay man seemingly didn't prepare him to run for the head of the Department of Transportation, Biden appointed him anyway. That decision, however, has led to devastating consequences as train derailments, airport stoppages, and various other problems have arisen under his watch.

Most notably, Republicans slammed Buttigieg for his handling of the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment, which saw the release of vinyl chloride that resulted in tremendous damage to local wildlife and the environment. The Democrat secretary only visited the site after 45th President Donald Trump announced his visit to the area earlier this year.

Americans for Public Trust also caught the 41-year-old Democrat using government private jets to fly out to luxurious locations at least 18 times, including a trip to Montreal and Europe. His use of the jets has led to a formal investigation and has resulted in the use of tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars.

As Buttigieg continues to fail the American people left and right, House Republicans are doing what they can to hold him accountable. Hopefully, the pay cut will force Buttigieg to finally do his job and work for the American people rather than jetting around the world on the taxpayers' dime.
