Poll: Nearly Half Of Americans Don't Trust The Justice Department's Hunter Biden Investigation - Will The DOJ Protect The Biden Family?

Nearly half of Americans polled are not confident the Department of Justice's investigation of President Joe Biden's son Hunter will be handled in a "fair and bipartisan manner," the latest survey from ABC News/Ipsos shows.

The poll of 508 Americans over 18 was conducted from August 15-16, 2023, only a few days after the investigation was announced with the appointment of Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss as Special Counsel in an ongoing probe of Hunter Biden and his business enterprises.

A large plurality, nearly half at 48 percent, are "not confident that the U.S. Justice Department is handling its investigation of Hunter Biden in a fair and nonpartisan manner."

In what should be an enormous rebuke to the Biden-run DOJ, only 32 percent of those polled expressed that they had confidence in the investigation.

As a deeper dive, only 11 percent would describe themselves as "very confident," with 21 percent saying they are only "somewhat confident." Conversely, a huge 34 percent said they are "not confident at all" as opposed to only 14 percent who said they are "not so confident."

So by and large, the trend slides even further toward the American people polling with 'no confidence' in the ability of the Biden administration's Department of Justice to investigate Hunter Biden in a "fair" and "nonpartisan manner."

As reported by our colleagues at the Daily Caller, "Attorney General Merrick Garland named Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss special counsel Friday in the ongoing Hunter Biden investigation. Weiss served as lead prosecutor in the Hunter Biden case, and Joe Biden-appointed U.S. Attorneys in D.C. and the Central District of California blocked Weiss from charging the younger Biden in those districts, Shapley testified."

According to The National Pulse, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) blasted Attorney General Garland for the appointment. He said,

"This is part of the DOJ’s efforts to attempt a Biden family coverup in light of our Committee’s mounting evidence of President Joe Biden’s role in his family’s schemes selling “the brand” for millions of dollars to foreign nationals.

The Justice Department’s misconduct and politicization in the Biden criminal investigation already allowed the statute of limitations to run with respect to egregious felonies committed by Hunter Biden. Justice Department officials refused to follow evidence that could have led to Joe Biden, tipped off the Biden transition team and Hunter Biden’s lawyers about planned interviews and searches, and attempted to sneakily place Hunter Biden on the path to a sweetheart plea deal.

Let’s be clear what today’s move is really about. The Biden Justice Department is trying to stonewall congressional oversight as we have presented evidence to the American people about the Biden family’s corruption."

Based on polling results, almost half of the U.S., and by far the largest portion of the population, agree.
