Possible Second Trump Indictment Looming in Washington D.C.

Bret Baier of Fox News took to Twitter Monday with an Earth-shaking missive that could indicate the indictment of 45th President Donald Trump by a Manhattan District Attorney could be just a prelude to an even more concerted second act of political prosecution.

Baier tweeted, “FOX News is told multiple U.S. Secret Service agents connected to Former President Donald Trump have been subpoenaed & are expected to testify before the D.C. grand jury likely on Friday. The grand jury appearances are related to the Special Counsel Jack Smith probe into the handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.”

Within short order, Timcast’s Tim Pool appeared on his titular channel with a video entitled, “Trump Faces SECOND INDICTMENT, Democrats DC Grand Jury Order Secret Service To TESTIFY Against Trump.”

Pool warned his audience that through the obvious political prosecution of Trump, the nation’s confidence in the rule of law is being “shattered,” he explained,

“Ladies and gentlemen, it appears there is a second indictment looming. You think they’re going to stop here? They’re going after Trump at the state and federal level.

So what happens if they stop the Republican front runner from run… Look this is a conversation I have a lot of people. Okay? Government is confidence. That’s it.

I was having this conversation just this past weekend to explain to people how close we are to the…to the end of this country. Confidence is everything.”

According to Fox News, Smith’s team alleges that Trump mislead his attorneys regarding the contents of the documents stored at his Mar-a-Lago home. Smith was assigned as special counsel in November following the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago on August 8th that forcibly searched and seized records from Trump’s private home despite the 45th President asserting his unilateral declassification authority as defined by the Supreme Court in Navy v. Egan.

“The President, after all, is the ‘Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States’” according to Article II of the Constitution, the court’s majority wrote. “His authority to classify and control access to information bearing on national security … flows primarily from this constitutional investment of power in the President, and exists quite apart from any explicit congressional grant.” Even Politifact was forced to concede this as true.

That said, the imposition of a search warrant by U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart in 2022 for “all physical documents and records constituting evidence, contraband, fruits of crime, or other items illegally possessed” was politically motivated and fallacious by its nature under the SCOTUS ruling, similarly to the New York DA’s machinations.
