Within a matter of mere minutes after the mugshot of the 45th President Donald J. Trump was posted, redefining the very meaning of 'going viral,' the Trump 2024 presidential campaign launched a line of merchandise prominently featuring what is already being called 'the mugshot heard round the world.'
As reported by the content creator, RazörFist, as of 4:18 PM EST on August 24th, the site was online featuring tee shirts, long sleeves, coffee mugs, beverage koozies, and bumper stickers featuring Trump's already legendary mugshot. RazörFist wrote, "Holy hell, that was fast! The man knows how to market."
The commentator indicated the store is found at Trump's campaign website which presently gives the following message from the 45th president.
"The American people know what’s going on.
What has taken place is a travesty of justice and ELECTION INTERFERENCE. The Left wants to intimidate YOU out of voting for a political outsider who puts the American people FIRST. But today, I walked into the lion’s den with one simple message on behalf of our entire movement: I WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR MISSION TO SAVE AMERICA.
If you are doing poorly due to the sinister people in control of our country right now, don’t even think about donating!
But if you can, please make a contribution to evict Crooked Joe Biden from the White House and SAVE AMERICA during this dark chapter in our nation’s history. Thank you and God bless you."
As previously reported by DC Enquirer, incumbent Democrat President Joe Biden appeared to begin attempting to fundraise off of the politically motivated prosecution of his opponent almost instantaneously, but was met with broad condemnation online.
Meanwhile, Trump's effort to parlay his persecution to aid his electoral campaign has been met with understanding, support, and even enthusiasm from millions.
Some on the left have even began to interpret the mugshot that so many were clamoring to see as "a threat." Megan Garber, writing for The Atlantic, said, "He Wants Us to Look at Him. Trump's mug shot was supposed to be an exercise in humility. He turned it into a threat."
Unbelievably, Garber compared Trump's mugshot to the visage of the mythological figure Medusa. She wrote,
"anyone who looked into Medusa’s eyes would be turned to stone. In shaping their story of a gaze made violent, the creators of that early democracy were prescient about the man who has tried to destroy ours. Donald Trump’s head may be covered in spray rather than snakes, but he is a Medusa all the same, reconfigured for the age of mass media: Once you look at him, your fate is already sealed."
She continues, "Trump had his mug shot taken. It was shared with the public. We looked, of course. And he was prepared for our gaze: hair, makeup, angle, pose. In the portrait—it is a portrait, in the end—Trump glares directly into the camera. He seethes. He glowers. He turns in a studied performance. Photos like this are typically exercises in enforced humility. Trump’s is a display of ongoing power. He treats his mug shot as our menace."
And now it's on a tee shirt which you can purchase here.
