On Monday evening, 45th President Donald Trump reacted to the news that Fox News parted ways with the most successful cable news host in American history, Tucker Carlson, as well as the departure of Dan Bongino from the network last week.
It was announced Monday morning that Tucker Carlson will be leaving Fox News with the host’s final show being last Friday, April 21st.
“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the network said in a statement, according to Forbes.
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” Fox continued in its statement. “Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday, April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”
In response to this, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “The fact that Tucker Carlson will no longer be on FoxNews is a big blow to Cable News, and to America. Tucker was insightful, interesting, and ratings gold. He will be greatly missed!”

Trump also commented on the departure of Dan Bongino from the network, who announced he did not renew his contract with the network last week for his Saturday evening show.
“Oh’ no, not Dan Bongino also? Not only Tucker, but Dan,” Trump wrote, asking, “What is going on at Fox News?”
Trump also expressed his concern for Tucker’s firing in an interview with Newsmax‘s Greg Kelly, saying, “Well I’m shocked. I’m surprised. He’s a very good person and a very good man. Very talented as you know. He had very high ratings. We’re just learning about this almost as we speak. I don’t know if it was voluntary or somebody was fired. Tucker’s been terrific, especially over the last year or so. He’s been terrific to me.”
It is clear that President Trump is unsettled by Carlson’s departure and Bongino’s exit makes the evacuation from Fox News even more apparent.
