On Thursday, Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) pushed that the House needs to prioritize an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden when the group reconvenes in September, calling him a “compromised president who must be impeached.”
The Colorado lawmaker spoke with Newsmax where she made the case that with all the evidence in possession of the House Oversight Committee, House Republicans could launch an impeachment inquiry.
The two main pieces of evidence that Boebert pointed to were documents that connect Biden to “upwards of $20 million” in likely bribery schemes, much of which came from Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblowers. The other one is the testimony of Devon Archer, the former best friend of Hunter Biden as well as a fellow businessman.
"It's very frustrating for me that we are back home and not doing our due diligence to actually impeach Joe Biden for the bribery schemes that we've seen in the FD-1023s — $5 million to one Biden and then to another," Boebert said.
"Joe Biden keeps doubling down and saying he had nothing to do with this," Boebert stated. "In my opinion, this is a compromised president who must be impeached."
Boebert is far from the only House Republican pushing for an impeachment inquiry into President Biden, with Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) writing in July that there would be a possibility of impeaching Biden, per the DC Enquirer.
“Our investigations are revealing more info every day about the Biden family's shell companies and the sweetheart deal from the DOJ. The American public has a right to the truth,” a tweet from McCarthy read. “If evidence continues to rise to the level of an impeachment inquiry, House Republicans will act.”
Speaker McCarthy also said similar things when appearing on ‘Hannity,’ bringing up all the different evidence and floating the impeachment idea, per the DC Enquirer.
“This is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry which provides Congress the strongest power to get the rest of the knowledge and information needed because this president has also used something we have not seen since Richard Nixon. Use the weaponization of government to benefit his family and deny Congress the ability to have the Oversight,” McCarthy said.
With the constant new evidence further linking Biden to one corruption scandal after another, it’s about time that he is held accountable. While impeachment is certainly a major deal that should be handled extremely delicately and rarely, there’s undoubtedly enough evidence against Biden to raise legitimate questions on if he’s a compromised agent.
