Jeff Zucker the former President of CNN reportedly instructed his employees not to pursue investigations into the lab-leak hypothesis regarding the origin of COVID-19. Allegedly the leftist executive believed the widely supported theory to be a “Trump talking point.”
According to Fox News, in the opening months of the COVID-19 lockdowns Zucker forbid the news company from engaging with the lab-leak story at all citing a “well-placed CNN insider.”
“People are slowly waking up from the fog,” the unnamed source told Fox. “It is kind of crazy that we didn’t chase it harder.”

CNN under Zucker pursued a publicly acknowledged anti-Trump position. As noted by Fox, two years ago in March 2020 CNN personality Oliver Darcy penned an Op-Ed entitled, “Here’s how to debunk coronavirus misinformation and conspiracy theories from friends and family,” in which he proffered advice to readers who rejected the mainstream media narrative.
“In some cases, relatives and friends share poor information – whether it is bad science related to how to prevent the virus, debunked rumors about cities being put on lockdown, or conspiracy theories about the origins of Covid-19. While any strain of misinformation is not ideal, misinformation related to a public health crisis has an especially dangerous element to it,” Darcy wrote.
“Here you are talking about a potential leak from a Chinese government-controlled lab.”
He added, “I will just make the observation that the Chinese government, it seems to me, has been doing its best to try to thwart and obfuscate the work here, the work that we’re doing, the work that our U.S. government and close foreign partners are doing. And that’s unfortunate for everybody.”
In the light of day following these revelations, the gross misconduct of CNN and Jeff Zucker and the full-court-press to suppress, marginalize and even demonize those investigating the theory, rises to near criminal proportions, but without any doubt, CNN’s action break any notion of ethical or moral behavior.
