WATCH: Republican Oversight Chairman 'Sets Date To Criminally Charge FBI Director Wray' Over Failure To Hand Over Document

Representative James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, has officially set a date for the momentous vote to declare FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt of Congress. He told this date and his reasons behind pressing for a criminal charge to Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Benny Johnson, a conservative show host himself, broke the news when he tweeted, "James Comer officially sets date to criminally charge FBI Director Wray over cover-up of Biden Family crimes: 'It's going to look very similar to what Democrats did with Steve Bannon...'" and attached a video of the exchange.

The video opens with Hannity asking the Republican lawmaker where things stand with Wray. "Today was the deadline [to hand over a document purporting to detail a Biden corruption scheme with a foreign national to Congress], he [Wray] was given three weeks to produce the document and go into detail into what they [the FBI] did to investigate the validity of the document but thus far he won't even admit that they had the document," Comer explained. "He has given us the round around for three weeks, he is just stalling. He said that there was good faith effort- they haven't produced anything."

The Kentucky Representative continued by stating, "We don't have confidence in Director Wray. We are already in the process of drafting legislation to hold an oversight committee markup next week to hold FBI Director Wray in contempt of Congress." Hannity then expalined that the document in question that Congress was requesting made a specific allegation of a pay-to-play scandal that then Vice President Joe Biden was involved in. Hannity also asked aloud how long the FBI had possession of the document.

"They had the document for four years," the Oversight Committee chairman responded. "We don't know if they have even investigated it. That is my fear. That they never did anything....there is a pattern within our federal government...when looking at any type of wrongdoing by the Biden family that people in the government bureaucracy have told rank and file government employees to stand down or to give them the file and don't worry about it. That is basically what Director Wray has told me."

The chairman noted that such occurrences were not a one-off as he can demonstrate how briefly after (then Vice President) Joe Biden left the country for the business of state, his family would receive foreign money through shell companies and this was not normal behavior.

Hannity asked what would the contempt charge look like. Comer replied much the same as what the Democrats did to Steve Bannon.
