On Tuesday, the entire Republican delegation from the state of Michigan officially endorsed leading GOP 2024 candidate and 45th President Donald Trump for president.
The lawmakers in question include Reps. Jack Bergman, Bill Huizenga, John James, Lisa McClain, John Moolenaar and Tim Walberg.
"We’re proud to announce our full endorsement of President Donald J. Trump," the lawmakers told Fox News Digital.
"Under the Trump presidency, America was prosperous, the economy was strong, the world was a safer place, and Michiganders were better off," the group said. "President Trump has proven he has the ability to deliver results on Day One and also the ability to win in key battleground states like Michigan, being the only Republican to win a Presidential race here since 1988."
Trump's clean sweep of the Michigan delegation showcases that he is solidifying his dominant lead over his Republican challengers, most notably Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who has been falling in the polls since his announcement.
A recent poll from YouGov found President Trump up 29 points on Gov. DeSantis nationally with Trump enjoying 55 percent support while DeSantis is only able to bring in 26 percent.
"This monumental clean sweep in Michigan and other key endorsements across the country signify Republicans are rallying behind President Trump because they know he is the only person to stop Joe Biden and his destructive policies that have killed the economy and made Americans less safe," a Trump campaign spokesman told Fox.
According to FiveThirtyEight's endorsement tracker, which assigns point values to each significant endorsement, President Trump has 298 points while Gov. DeSantis only has 39. Other GOP candidates like former Vice President Mike Pence (R-IN), Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), and former North Dakota Governor Doug Burgham all have less than 20 points each.
Notable figures who have endorsed President Trump include Gov. Jim Justice (R-WV), Gov. Henry McMaster (R-SC), Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-AL), Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC), Sen. Eric Schmidt (R-MO), and a host of other lawmakers from across the country.
It is becoming increasingly clear that President Trump will once again be the nominee for the Republican Party in 2024. The American people wish to see the return of an America under his administration's leadership. An America that is prosperous, thriving, and showing leadership in the world.
