Representatives Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney are not Republicans. The pair frequently side with the Democrats, both in their rhetoric and policy choices. Both are members of the hyper-partisan January 6 committee — a committee designed to be a lethal weapon to be used against the Republican Party. Both are critics of Former President Donald Trump. Both frequently go on hyper-partisan networks like CNN and MSNBC to attack Republican policies. In fact, it was this latter set of behaviors that got Cheney removed from her position as the Chair of the House Republican Conference in 2021. To that point, she had been the third highest-ranking Republican in the House of Representatives.
This Friday, the Republican National Committee approved the censure of Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney. The move is unprecedented. It was the first time in the history of the committee that a sitting US Congressman — much less two — was censured by the organization. Kinzinger responded to the situation as follows:
My statement on the RNC censure. I am now even more committed to fighting conspiracies and lies: pic.twitter.com/NzKK2s2kkC

Liz Cheney also offered her thoughts here:
I’m a constitutional conservative and I do not recognize those in my party who have abandoned the Constitution to embrace Donald Trump. History will be their judge. I will never stop fighting for our constitutional republic. No matter what. (2/2) https://t.co/HtgFzrCipd
