Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Reveals Doctors Told Him Parasite Ate Part Of His Brain - 'I Have Cognitive Problems'

A report from The New York Times on Wednesday shed light on 70-year-old independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.'s health history, with one particularly gruesome detail gaining attention. According to a 2012 divorce deposition reviewed by the outlet, RFK, Jr. apparently had a worm that infested and ate part of his brain before dying.

The presidential candidate explained at the deposition that he suffered short-term memory loss and cognitive fogginess, which "was caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died." Kennedy, who was also diagnosed with mercury poisoning at the time, explained the extent of his symptoms during the deposition, saying, "I have cognitive problems, clearly. I have short-term memory loss, and I have longer-term memory loss that affects me."

In an interview with The Times earlier this month, Kennedy explained that he no longer suffers any of the symptoms he outlined during the deposition over a decade ago. The shocking report comes after Kennedy, Jr. has repeatedly attempted to show his athleticism on the campaign trail by doing shirtless pull-ups and push-ups, doing backflips off boats, or skiing with a professional snowboarder. RFK Jr. has made it a part of his campaign to contrast himself with 81-year-old President Joe Biden and 77-year-old President Donald Trump.

The independent candidate, who has suffered from several medical issues over the decades, including atrial fibrillation, mercury poisoning, and spasmodic dysphonia, refused to release his medical records to The Times in contrast to both Biden and Trump, who released reports from doctors that proved their fitness for the job.

In a November letter posted to Truth Social, Dr. Bruce A. Aronwald wrote that Trump was in excellent health. "I am pleased to report that President Trump's overall health is excellent," he wrote. "His physical exams were well within the normal range and his cognitive exams were exceptional. In addition, his most recent extensive laboratory analysis remains well within normal limits and was even more favorable than prior testing in some of the most significant parameters, most likely secondary to weight reduction. Cardiovascular studies are all normal and cancer screening tests are all negative. President Trump has reduced his weight through an improved diet and continued daily physical activity, while maintaining a rigorous schedule."

President Biden's health report, released in February, concluded that he was fit to serve overall but noted some physical issues, such as a stiffened gait due to slight arthritis. The White House doctor noted that Biden's "arthritic changes remain moderate to severe, but still do not result in nerve root compression significant enough that they would warrant any specific treatment."

With the top three presidential contenders past retirement age, health issues will play a major part in the upcoming election. RFK, Jr.'s recent health revelations could impact his campaign and hurt his messaging that he is the more youthful and healthy of the three candidates vying to lead the free world.
