The second Republican presidential debate in Simi Valley, California at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library saw ratings fall off a cliff as more and more Republican voters tune out the competition to leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump.
According to POLITICO, ratings for the Fox News/Univision-sponsored debate saw only 9.5 million people tune in. Compared to the first debate which saw about 13 million Americans watching, that's nearly a 27 percent decrease.
The nosedive in ratings was likely contributed by President Trump's speech to hundreds of auto workers in Clinton Township, Michigan at the same time as the debate. This tactic to counterprogram the other candidates was utilized during the first debate when Trump sat down with conservative host Tucker Carlson.
"The second Republican Primary Debate on FoxNews had the Lowest Viewership since 2016," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Their overall Ratings are down 30%. FOX NEEDS MAGA, THEY JUST DON’T KNOW IT YET. STOP WITH THE BAD DEBATES & NEGATIVE ADS, NO MORE. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE! DJT."
Trump's campaign has already declared that he would not be attending the next GOP debate on November 8th and has gone further by demanding that the RNC suspend the next debate given Trump's lead.
“Tonight’s GOP debate was as boring and inconsequential as the first debate, and nothing that was said will change the dynamics of the primary contest being dominated by President Trump," Senior Trump Campaign Advisor Chris LaCivita wrote.
"The RNC should immediately put an end to any further primary debates so we can train our fire on Crooked Joe Biden and quit wasting time and money that could be going to evicting Biden from the White House," he added.
According to recent polling accumulated by FiveThirtyEight, President Trump enjoys 54 percent support from the Republican base while his rivals are far behind him.
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has 13.8 percent support, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy (R-OH) has 6.3 percent support, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley (R-SC) has 6.2 percent support, former Vice President Mike Pence holds 4.6 percent of the base, former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) is able to convince 2.9 percent of primary voters, and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) can only manage 2.7 percent support. All other candidates have less than two percent support in the national polls.
Trump's historic lead over his primary opponents is unprecedented and the likelihood of another candidate overtaking him looks nearly impossible. As Republican voters tuned out the presidential debate, they likely also tuned out the other candidates as well.

No one really cares what these so called republican candidates say. They dont have experiance, They could never get past the deep state swamp creatures that will stand in their way. Americans know Trump knows every single one of them, and he will without a doubt obliterate them, while at the same time recinding biden's disasterous executive orders. We do not have time for on the job training.
