The LGBTQ Program Director for Media Matters recently released a tweet admitting that books featuring gay porn scenes were inappropriate.
The exchange began on Twitter when Seth Dillon, CEO of the satirical news site The Babylon Bee, quoted another tweet from Chelsea Clinton. The original tweet stated that “Over 50% of the attempted book bans last year involved books with LGBTQ+ characters & themes,” which was reported by NBC News. Dillon added to that tweet by proclaiming that “Chelsea Clinton has come out in favor of porn for kids.”

This tweet prompted Ari Drennen, a biological male that identifies as a womanmand the LGBTQ Program Director for controversial media organization Media Matters, to reply saying, “Weird way to tell us you’re yanking it to children’s books, Seth.”
Dillon followed up with another tweet, this time replying directly to Drennen, with a picture of a comic book featuring a young man giving oral sex to another young man. Dillon captioned the tweet with, “Imagine how sick and depraved you have to be to call this a children’s book.”
Drennen then replied to Dillon’s tweet, stating, “Hey Seth I think you meant this for my DMs, you just sent me an unsolicited drawing of a blowjob,” to which Seth Dillon replied, “‘Porn is for DMs and children.’ — Ari Drennan.”
Now, Drennen had intended for this tweet to be a joking tweet, which was revealed later whenever she replied to another Twitter user that claimed Drennen “admitted that [she] want[s] to keep porn in public schools.” Drennen then replied stating that “I definitely didn’t say that.”
Ari you accidentally admitted that you want to keep porn in public schools. Care to comment on that? https://t.co/tYqiA2GfWB

Drennen attempted to use the Twitter terms of service that bans pornographic material to prevent people from sharing any further images of the interaction as well as the original tweet, saying “I am reporting any tweet sent to me that contains a depiction of a sex act.”
Drennen then attempted to further deflect the situation, claiming Dillon “was sexually harassing.”
The whole situation can only be described as a clown fiesta for Drennan, from advocating for gay porn being allowed in libraries for children to then attempting to deflect the situation with jokes that land completely flat.
It’s concerning to see someone like this head a major part of a massive media conglomerate like Media Matters, and we can only hope that sick people like this won’t be allowed to make any meaningful decisions for the safety and well-being of our kids.
