Breitbart News picked up yesterday that Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) had filed a privileged resolution in Congress that would request that the White House disclose how many American military forces are operating in Ukraine. This comes after the recent Pentagon Paper Discord leak that there were 29 Department of Defense officials in Ukraine last month and 14 members of the special forces. This revelation stands in apparent contradiction to President Joe Biden’s previous comments back in February of last year that “Our forces are not and will not be engaged in the conflict…That’s [American forces in Ukraine] a world war when Americans and Russia start shooting at one another.”
The resolution itself, H. Res. 300, if passed would request from the President and direct the Secretary of Defense “to transmit, respectively, to the House of Representatives, not later than 14 days after the date of the adoption of this resolution, copies of all documents in the possession of the President or the Secretary of Defense, respectively, indicating any plans for current or future military assistance to Ukraine and documents indicating whether any United States Armed Forces, including special operations forces, are currently deployed in Ukraine.”

The resolution has been sent to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. Representative Gaetz told Breitbart that “The Biden Administration and other allied countries have been misleading the world on the state of the Ukraine war. There must be total transparency from this administration to the American people when they seem to be gambling war with a nuclear adversary by having special forces operating in Ukraine…I represent a congressional district with the highest concentration of active-duty military personnel. I come from a community where the protection of this type of classified information that was leaked can be life or death for family members and my constituents.”
The Floridian representative further commented that “My Privileged Resolution of Inquiry will better inform the Congress and the country on the true state of our military’s involvement in the war.” Being a privileged resolution, as Breitbart, noted means that “if it is not reported to the House floor within 14 days of its introduction, Gaetz can make a motion to call it up on the floor as privileged business.”
Mr. Gaetz took to Twitter to proclaim that it is “Show and tell time, Joe.”
