WATCH: Former Sports Reporter Michele Tafoya Takes A Courageous Stand Against Biological Men Competing In Women’s Sports

During a Thursday appearance on Fox News‘s ‘The Story With Martha MacCallum’, former NFL sideline reporter Michele Tafoya voiced her support for Republican lawmakers after they took action to protect the legitimacy of women’s sports.

This comes after Republicans voted Thursday to pass H.R. 734 (118) — which effectively bars biological men from competing in women’s sports. The bill passed on a 219-203 vote. No Democrats voted with the Republican majority.

“I keep waking up every morning thinking, ‘Okay, has the world turned right side up again?’ And it still hasn’t. I mean, sadly, what we saw today was really a symbolic vote,” Tafoya said. “Not a single Democrat voted for this bill to protect girls and women.”

“And to call it transphobic ignores one of the clauses. It is a very short bill, but one of the sentences in it says this does not prohibit a male who is now identifying as a female to practice or participate with a girls’ team or women’s team. But they cannot supplant, they cannot replace the woman on that team,” Tafoya added.

“No woman, no girl should be deprived of her roster, spot, or any other benefits that go along with that. So, to say this is transphobic or hate-filled is just flat-out wrong. But again, the Democrats are the party of science. Right? They’re the party of women. And today they showed they’re anything but,” Tafoya argued.

Tafoya then got into the science — claiming this most certainly supported the position of the Republican lawmakers.

“The science tells us that men and women, when they are born, when they are conceived, are chromosome only different, two Xs or an X and a Y. Which one are you?”  Tafoya remarked. “Based on that, we are built differently. We have physical differences. Men cannot have babies as much as people want to tell you that they can, and women have a menstrual cycle that they have to compete with. Transgender women do not have that. They do not have a uterus. They do not have these things that they would have to then compete through and compete with. There are biological, scientifically based differences between men and women, and no amount of hormone therapy is going to change that.”

Tafoya was then asked what she thought the solution was when it comes to biological men who wished to compete in women’s sports. While she was open to making them compete with their biological sex, she asserted that this would not be enough, because they would have to “divide it again and again, whether it is by weight, by age, just like they divide up peewee sports.”

She concluded by saying this was a “never-ending issue.”
