Tennessee Family Faces Deportation After 15 Years In America While Biden Welcomes In Millions Of Illegal Immigrants

The Biden administration seems to prefer illegal immigrants flooding the southern border to immigrants that have attempted to go through the proper legal routes to put their roots down as a Tennessee family who immigrated from Germany is facing deportation after 15 years of residing in the United States.

The Romeike family came to America after the German government fined the family for homeschooling the children, something that is illegal in Germany. After five years of living in the United States, their asylum claim was officially denied with federal authorities claiming that the family wasn’t persecuted.

"They did not tell us anything. We don't really know why [this is happening]. We wonder ourselves because we can't understand," Uwe Romeike told Fox News

Even with the current hardships that they’re facing, their attorney, Kevin Boden, is hopeful for the family.

"They found that the Romeike family did have a well-founded fear of persecution based on their participation in a particular social category, that being homeschoolers," Boden said. He noted that if they were to return to the European nation now, they would once again face issues with continuing to homeschool their children.

"The Obama administration appealed that to the Board of Immigration Appeals. That appeal court agreed with them, as did the Sixth Circuit, and the Supreme Court denied it…. We think this is, in fact, an asylum case,” the attorney continued. “We do think they have a well-founded fear as we testified…”

"I can tell you today, I talked to families today that have fear in Germany and the fight there, the persecution there, is very real today as it was 15 years ago," he added.

Boden is hoping that the family can continue to reside in America legally as they have done for the past 15 years, saying that they're requesting “to simply do just that.”

The move from the Biden administration to attempt to deport the family comes off as immensely ironic as they are pushing for tens of thousands of illegal immigrants to come in but have issues with one family that has resided in America for 15 years.

The Romeike family has not come to leech the prosperity of America but instead contribute to it, something that most of the migrants crossing the border illegally today cannot say. It’s noteworthy that they came as a family, unlike the thousands of military-aged men who are crossing the Rio Grande every day.

Regardless, there is hope for the family given their potential asylum claim and their residence in the country for the past 15 years. Nevertheless, the Biden administration's targeting of the family flies in the face of their preferred migrant policy seen every day at the southern border.
