Texas Homeowner Shoots Alleged Intruder In Head Amid Home Invasion

On Thursday morning, a Texas homeowner reportedly used his Second Amendment right to defend his home after an alleged home invader broke into his home in the early hours of the morning.

As reported by CBS19, the Polk County Sherriff's Office was called by the homeowner and told that a man was attempting to enter through his front door in the Indian Springs subdivision in Polk County just north of Houston.

At around 12:18 a.m., the two men reportedly got into a scuffle before the homeowner turned his gun on the male suspect and opened fire, striking him in the head.

Despite the injury, the alleged home invader was able to get away and traveled two miles from the initial altercation before being picked up by local authorities. After being picked up by the sheriff's office, the man was flown to a Harris County hospital, where he was later released with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the incident.
