New York Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi called out CNN contributor Ana Navarro on Wednesday night after she claimed that voters were mocking former President Donald Trump following Tuesday night’s debate.
Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris faced off in a debate hosted by ABC News hosts David Muis and Linsey Davis, during which the moderators were criticized on social media for “fact-checking” Trump more than Harris. Navarro gloated that people were “laughing at” Trump after the debate based on what she saw on social media, while Nuzzi tried to get a word in to point out that Navarro’s feed was “curated.”
“No, no, no. There was so much coverage —” Navarro said.

“But that’s curated to you in your feed,” Nuzzi said.
While pundits on corporate media praised Harris’ performance, reviews from voters were far more mixed. Six out of ten panelists asked by Reuters said they were now more inclined to back Trump following the debate.
“But there was people… folks at bars, folks at debate watchers, listening to Donald Trump and bursting out in laughter about how absurd it is,” Navarro responded.
“Normal people are not in a debate watch party,” Nuzzi countered. “A swing voter who’s probably not that invested in politics, is not at a debate watch party.”
Navarro then asked Nuzzi if it was possible that swing voters saw the memes mocking Trump.
Harris currently leads former President Donald Trump by 1.3% in the RealClearPolling average of polls from Aug, 22 to Sept. 11, with her lead growing to 1.9% when Green Party candidate Dr. Jill Stein, Libertarian Party candidate Chase Oliver and independent candidate Cornel West are included in surveys.
