‘They Fear For Their Lives’: GOP Rep. Leading Hunter Biden Probe Says Witnesses Are Being Intimidated By Democrats, DOJ Soft Peddling Hunter Investigation

James Comer (R-KY), the Chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, in an interview by Just the News, expressed concerns over the Justice Department’s ongoing criminal investigation being conducted for the purposes of covering for the first family and over witness intimidation by Democrats that could obstruct Comer’s investigation.

Representative Comer said that “The Hunter Biden legal team — they’re testing the limits [when they send letters that have veiled threats to witnesses]. I’ll put it like that with respect to witness intimidation. I mean just look in my district. We’ve got dark money groups that are being funded through prominent high-ranking Democrat officials in Congress. Also, the communications director for the White House continues to retweet things trying to intimidate me for having the audacity to investigate.”

“We’ve got witnesses that are scared to death to come forward. They fear for their lives,” Mr. Comer relayed. “I mean, you’ve got the banks that have worked with us, they’re being squeezed by attorneys, by high-ranking officials in the Democrat Party for having the nerve to work with us to comply with our subpoenas.”

Mr. Comer also commented on his fears over how the Department of Justice’s criminal investigation of Hunter Biden was by design too narrowly focused. He said that “Look, his [Hunter’s] tax problems go back to at least 2014. He owes a lot more in taxes than what I’ve heard they’re wanting to indict him on. At the end of the day, if you look at all the potential charges and all the potential wrongdoing that Hunter Biden has done over the past decade, tax evasion for one or two years is a drop in the bucket. It wouldn’t even be in the top five things that I think the DOJ could charge him with.”

“This is another example of a two-tier system in justice, of justice in America. This is another example of a privileged Democrat, getting away with things that no average, working, taxpaying American could get away with,” he added.

The theory that Comer has been operating under after reviewing Hunter’s bank records is that there was a pay-for-play scandal where Hunter took foreign money in exchange for his father, then Vice President Joe Biden, doing favors for these companies.

“What we found when we went into the Treasury was there were many more bank accounts, many more LLCs, and many more Bidens that were involved in this influence peddling scheme than we first thought,” Rep. Comer explained. “So we’re still trying to track down who the final beneficiary was of all this money. But let’s just be realistic here: Why would China be sending this family millions and millions of dollars?”

“We believe that China was getting a return on their investment. And there was nothing that Hunter Biden could do, there was nothing that his family members could do for China,” he said.

“But there was a lot that Vice President Joe Biden or President Joe Biden could do for China. So this is why we’re investigating the Biden family. It’s all about investigating and trying to determine whether or not this president of the United States is compromised.”

Comer mentioned that he plans to publish his interim report next month. He said that “We plan on being very transparent with the media and the American people in the next couple of weeks and update them on all of our findings. And I think that you will feel the earth shake in a few places.”

Chairman Comer has reiterated these claims on Twitter when he wrote that “The Biden family legal team is going after anyone who has the audacity to bring the truth to light. I have no idea how @POTUS is going to explain to the American people that his family took in millions from our foreign adversaries.”
