Former President Donald Trump knows how to throw a party, and it seems that he intends to hold a massive one to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America that will last the entire year.
The major birthday is set to come in 2026, 250 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Trump has brought forth a plan if he was elected president to throw “the most spectacular birthday party” for the major milestone, per Politico. The New York businessman lays out the multitude of different plans that he has, including a “Great American State Fair” featuring all 50 of the states, nationwide high school sporting events, and the creation of a “National Garden of American Heroes” that will feature famous American historical figures.
The event is set to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, with Trump declaring his intent to “make it the best of all time.” The celebration will feature heavy patriotism celebrating all 250 years of American history and making the future look bright.
The former president highlighted how the celebration will bring in a massive amount of tourism to the country, saying, “America’s tourism industry should get ready cause we’re gonna have a lot of people coming. It’ll be a record year.”
Trump has had his eye on this 250th anniversary for a good while, creating the 1776 Commission during his first tenure in the Oval Office that was aimed at “better enab[ing] a rising generation to understand the history and principles of the founding of the United States in 1776.”
The ultimate part of the plan from Trump centers around the “Great American State Fair.” Trump envisions a massive fair that “will work with all 50 governors, Republican and Democrat alike, to create the Great American State Fair, a unique one-year exhibition featuring pavilions from all 50 states. It’ll be something. The Great American State Fair will showcase the glory of every state in the Union, promote pride in our history, and put forth innovative visions for America’s future.”
“My hope is that the amazing people of Iowa will work with my administration to open up the legendary Iowa state fairgrounds to host the Great American State Fair and welcome millions and millions of visitors from around the world to the heartland of America for this special one-time festival,” Trump continued. “Together we will build it, and they will come.”
Trump’s celebration plans mimic old-time Roman celebrations where the entire nation stopped to celebrate the continuation of the nation. The proposal from the former president is for sure an exciting idea and one that works to properly honor the history of such an accomplished nation.
