In the hours following his town hall appearance on CNN, the 45th President of the United States Donald Trump was criticized by some for the decision to appear on a network so hostile to him and his supporters. However, Trump was unphased telling detractors that he "got the word out to millions of people that would generally not hear" his policy proposals and arguments.
According to Fox News, Trump told the outlet "I was happy to do it" when asked about appearing on the ailing network that largely functions as a far-left echo chamber.
"I got the word out to millions of people that would generally not hear this point of view concerning things such as the border, inflation, the economy, energy independence, the Afghanistan catastrophe and more
He noted that "CNN is taking a lot of heat," as a result of his appearance. But added, "I think CNN did the right thing by putting me on—all you have to do is look at their fantastic ratings." Telling Fox News, "It was an honor to do it."

Indeed, appearing on CNN does present the potential for Trump's message to reach independent voters which are the most coveted in any election much less the fiery rematch he's expecting in 2024.
CNN's Anderson Cooper, the host of Anderson Cooper 360, even addressed the controversy over Trump's appearance in a two-minute monologue that can only be described as a coping mechanism. Cooper described the pro-Trump audience present in New Hampshire as being "a sampling of about half the country."
Cooper told his audience, "You have every right to be outraged today and angry and never watch this network again."
"If you're angry or upset, I understand, but you have the power to do something about it."
On his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote “People are criticizing CNN for giving me a Forum to tell the TRUTH. I believe it was a very smart thing that they did, with Sky High Ratings that they haven’t seen in a very long time. It was by far the biggest Show of the night, the week, and the month!”
He continued in a subsequent post, "Page 2: The Radical Left screamed, 'Take it down, take it down,' during the Show, because they saw that I was making so many important points on the Border, Energy Independence, the Afghanistan Catastrophe, Inflation, the Economy, Russia/Ukraine, and so much more. Many minds were changed on Wednesday night by listening to Common Sense, and sheer 'Brilliance.'"
