With the state that the country is in, most Americans look to the President to reassure them in a time like this. With inflation the way it is, and gas prices nearly crippling most Americans, one would expect the White House and Congress to put time and effort into the problems at hand. Instead, Democrat-run Congress is focusing its energy on the “bi-partisan” January 6th Committee.
The so-called “bi-partisan” committee consists of all Democrats and two “minority members” Liz Cheney (R-WY) and Adam Kinzinger (R-IL). Both of whom are outspoken never-Trumpers and have been censured by the Republican party.
No surprise, President Donald Trump had some words to share about Congress’ current priorities. “Our nation is SUFFERING. Our economy is in the gutter. Inflation is rampant. Gas prices have reached an all-time high. Ships are unable to unload cargo. Families cannot get needed baby formula.”
He continues “We are an embarrassment around the world. Our withdrawal from Afghanistan was a disaster that cost us precious American blood and gave $85 billion worth of the best military equipment on earth to our enemy. Millions and millions of illegals are marching to the border and invading our country. We have a White House in shambles, with Democrats, just this week, declaring that Biden is unfit to run for reelection. And what is the Democrat Congress focused on? A Kangaroo Court, hoping to distract the American people from the great pain they are experiencing.”
While Trump’s criticism of the current state of the nation may seem harsh, it’s not far from reality. While this nation has seen hard times before, the division surrounding January 6th is abnormal. Instead of focusing on the multitude of issues plaguing everyday Americans, Congress is continuously pushing for “hearings and investigations” into an event that took place over a year ago.
Trump offers an explanation for the January 6th hearings and the lack of acknowledgment of the problems at hand saying “People are desperate. Rather than solving problems, Democrats are rehashing history in hopes of changing the narrative. During my time in office, our nation was thriving, our economy was strong, and the price of gas was very low. Above all else, we were respected, perhaps like never before. America prospered under the Trump Administration.”
Donald Trump’s statements echo the sentiments of most conservatives in the country. His 13-page statement discusses a multitude of other issues as well, but the comments surrounding the January 6th investigation hit home with a lot of Americans.
